‘In Process’ with Lesley McDowell
Lesley McDowell was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1967. After gaining an MA in English Literature and a PhD on James Joyce and Feminist Theory, she taught for two years at St Andrews University.
In 1997, she left academia to write full-time. She is literary critic for the Herald, the Scotsman, the Independent, and the Independent on Sunday, as well as the author of three books: Between the Sheets: Nine 20th Century Women Writers and their Famous Literary Partnerships (2010; shortlisted for Scottish Book Awards 2011 Non-Fiction), The Picnic (2007), and Unfashioned Creatures, published in November 2013.
