‘Danish Exchange’ with Lene Asp, Martin Glaz Serup, and René Jean Jensen
Danish poets and authors Lene Asp, Martin Glaz Serup, and René Jean Jensen will read from their works. This event is part of the Glasgow/Copenhagen Creative Writers’ Exchange, and the readings will be followed by an open discussion of the texts and of the writers’ working methods.
Martin has published six children’s books – most recently, an illustrated story entitled When Granddad Was a Postman (2010) – three chapbook-essays, and six collections of poetry – his latest being a long poem, The Field (2010). In 2006, he received the Michael Strunge Prize for poetry, and in 2008 he received a Gold Medal from The University of Copenhagen for his dissertation on Poetry and Relational Aesthetics (which is now being prepared for a book, at the University Press of Southern Denmark).
Lene’s publications include: Samfundet (Society, 2013), a collection of short stories (forthcoming), Moræne (After Hand, 2010), Strømme (Anblik, 2007), and In the Multiverse Democracy Rules All (2006).
René was a panelist at the Testrup Højskoles/Dagbladet Informations Montana master classes 2010-13, and has published poetry in a range of anthologies and magazines from 1991 to 2010. His work has been translated into English (The Hat, 2009) and German (Neue Rundschau, 2013). He has also produced audiowalks for the City Museum of Copenhagen (Læseretning, 2005) as well as Eget ansvar for Louisiana (in connection with the museum’s literary festival of 2010).
This is a free event, open to all.
