The SWC is hosting our fist ever fundraising competition! We warmly invite you to share your creativity and submit an entry inspired by the theme of “‘HOPE.” All proceeds will go directly toward assisting with our event costs and activities for 2026.

Word Limit
Poetry- 30 lines maximum
OR Flash fiction – 250 words maximum.
Entry Fees – We really appreciate your support
£3 per entry for poetry
£3 per entry for Flash Fiction
£5 per entry for 1 Poetry & 1 Flash Fiction

You can submit to either category or both. Competition is open and closes on 23:59 28th February 2026.
Winners
The first prize winner in each category will receive a free year-long membership to the Scottish Writers’ Centre (worth £25) plus a curated of books and pamphlets bundle commemorating our literary event history.
The poetry and flash fiction winners will be announced in April 2026. We are working towards an inperson or online celebration event.

Please submit your entry to our SWC Chair Tom Murray via email: tmurraytg@aol.com and make your payment via “booking a ticket” via eventbrite. No names included on entries, title of poem/ FF only, in Times Roman font and size 12 type.
We are looking for unpublished work and the copyright will remain with you, the author.
