“Homeland” with Iyad Hayatleh

Iyad Hayatleh is a Palestinian poet and translator, who was born and grew up in Syria. He has lived in Glasgow since 2000, and has taken part in many literary events (operating translation and poetry workshops). Iyad has given numerous readings nationwide, including at the Edinburgh International Book Festival, and has found publication of his poems in magazines and collective poetry books.

His first collection was published by Survivor’s Press in 2007, entitled Beyond All Measure. He has collaborated with poet Tessa Ransford, on a two-way translation project for Rug of a Thousand Colours (featuring poems inspired by the Five Pillars of Islam, published by Luath Press in September 2012). He has featured on BBC radio programmes, and gained further media exposure in the Scottish press.
