Glasgow born author, J David Simons, has been a lawyer, charity administrator, cotton farmer, university lecturer, and journalist. His work has been short-listed for The McKitterick Prize, he has been the recipient of two Creative Scotland writers’ bursaries and a Robert Louis Stevenson Fellowship, and he is also a long-standing committee member of the Weegie Wednesday networking group.

Simons will discuss his latest novel, An Exquisite Sense of What Is Beautiful (Saraband, 2013), and talk about writing historical fiction, as with his first two novels – The Credit Draper (2008) and The Liberation of Celia Kahn (2011), both set in Glasgow’s Jewish community.
