Tuesday 17th December 2013; from 7pm to 8.30pm,
CCA Clubroom, Glasgow:

Christmas Speakeasy

SWC events
An evening of recitals in English, Scots, and Gaelic.

Every new writer has to start somewhere, and reading one’s own work to a small but friendly audience is a vital experience for authors (as a means to gain feedback and cultivate a distinct voice). SWC members have submitted their stories and poems, which they will perform on the night. Regardless, this is a free and unticketed event – open to all. A party atmosphere shall prevail!

The Scottish Writers’ Centre is a countrywide resource, which supports national writers and promotes Scotland’s vibrant literary culture. Operated solely by volunteers, the SWC is therefore by writers, for writers – the organisation provides a space for writers to meet, share ideas and experiences about the craft, and learn from those further advanced.

Among our performers will be: Wullie Purcell, G. W. Colkitto, Mo Blake, Sue Reid Sexton, Ingrid Lees, Catriona Lexy Campbell, Maureen Macleod, Alison Lang, Colette Coen, Mary Thomson, L. A. Traynor, Frances Corr, John McGlade, Barbara Brown, Derek Parkes, and Douglas Thompson.

This is a free event, open to all.
