Sabhal Mòr Ostaig

Feasgar math a’ Chairdean!

We had a lovely evening on Wednesday, at Sabhal Mor Ostaig, with Meg Bateman, Rody Gorman, and Janet Paisley.

Each writer read pieces in various languages (Gaelic, Irish, Scots, and English), and discussed the impact that language has on their work. Particularly enjoyable were Meg’s A-Z of Greek Etymology, Rody’s epic Irish myth in poetic form, and the blazingly funny account by Janet’s character Howie, from Not for Glory, of his child’s birth.

We also had a reading of an original poem by Suzanne Arnold, a member of the SMO Writers Group.

Many thanks to everyone who came along and took part.

Mile taing agus deagh dhurachdan!
